Interview Feedback

Alexander has been engaged in commercial development since 2018 as a Python Developer and Team Leader: he built a trading platform from scratch, two mobile applications and an automation service for a warehouse.

For the last 4 years, he has been developing a fintech crypto trading startup, where he is responsible for product development from 0 to a successful release, at the moment he works on product support, he brings him passive income. Also since the last 3 years he has been developing a new marketplace, which is already at the release stage, he is responsible for the development and management of a team of 15 people.

Until 2018, he was a specialist in financing investment projects in large multinational companies (EY, PwC and Norilsk Nickel). He holds an MA in Business from Oxford Brookes University (2010) and a BA in Engineering. PhD in Electronic Sciences, Moscow State University of Electronics and Mathematics (now HSE) (2008).

Alexander is an EU citizen, but currently lives in Dubai, and already in mid-April he leaves to live in Holland for permanent residence, but for now he is engaged in paperwork for the family. He is also finishing his job at his current company for now, with a release scheduled for April 9th and he will be able to start a new job after April 20th, but he is currently reviewing job options and interviewing.

He was very interested in the FXC position, as he has extensive experience in the fintech industry and would like to continue working on just such a product, as well as work with big data.

His expected salary is £4,200 per month.

Since there were doubts before about Alexander's tech stack, we called again and discussed this issue.

More experience is related to data processing in Python, with the use of Pandas, including pure statistics with ML and Cython. This was one of the main tasks. Also, the main part of the tasks is related to databases, analysis and processing within the service. We can say that this is more work with data, and less work from the front. Experience with Django and Rest API takes only 10% of the total tasks.

When developing a marketplace, the main part of Alexander's tasks is writing code for the backend in Python and working with databases, mostly PostgreSQL is used.

When developing a fintech startup, he dealt with tasks related to ETL - data on trading operations from exchanges, cleaned and processed and transformed into the format required for an internal database. Analyzed and correctly communicated and received the necessary information (trading signals). The analysis included statistics and ML.
